Gosper and Frontier County area of Nebraska
map provided by Dave Osborne 1999
After some hunting we found the gravesite of Harriet Davis Hardesty Crow (1829-1905). We knew that she died in Gosper County, NE and was buried in the Stowe Cemetery. Gosper County does not have a record of this cemetery because it turns out the cemetery is NOT in Gosper County but rather is in adjacent Frontier County. You may wish to update any notes you have.
We took pictures - wrought iron entrance gate; inscription on Harriet's marker; total marker column; and marker for Harriet's son Jay Hardesty (1873-1923).
Directions - From Elwood, Gosper County seat, go south 7 miles to Stockville Road (Highway 23S), a gravel road. Go west 10 miles. At the "T" intersection, Stockville Road turns north. You turn south approximately ¾ mile. Cemetery is on east side of road. Marker is towards the northeast corner. (Dave Osborne 1999)
