James Burge was born about 1809 in Indiana. His wife, Sarah Cornelia Howard, was born about 1816 in Connecticut. They were married in Clark County, Indiana on 27 Oct., 1831. They moved to Washington Twp., Des Moines County, Iowa about 1843. James died before 1880 in Iowa.
